  • Solicit and publish monographs in the series

    • Cleveland and Clark, Careers in Music Librarianship IV – copy-editing
  • Solicit and publish monographs in the series with a focus on Technology, Education, Value of the Profession
    • Jackson and Luyk, Music Research Data Management – published 2020
    • Weisbrod and Thompson, Managing Institutional Recordings – final manuscript due early fall 2021
  • Publish technical reports and monographs in music librarianship from individuals with diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
    • Goal area: Membership. Objective 1: Increase outreach efforts to members from underrepresented groups.
      • Revised call for proposals to encourage early-career and first-time authors and expanded suggested topics to include focus on inclusive pedagogy, critical cataloging and race, and antiracist collection development strategies.
      • Contacted and discussed potential book topics with authors from underrepresented groups throughout the year.
    • Goal Area: Membership. Objective 2: Increase outreach efforts to organizations that are underrepresented, including those whose holdings reflect many types of music.
      • Actively recruiting potential authors from public libraries and non-academic libraries in order to provide diverse perspectives.
  • Past editor (J. Sauceda) participated in a panel, “Publishing Opportunities in Music and Theatre Librarianship,” at MLA 2021. This was an effort to educate attendees about opportunities in publishing and the process.
  • Release quarterly calls for for proposals and reach out to potential authors throughout year – complete

    • Goal area: Membership. Objective 1: Increase outreach efforts to members from underrepresented groups.
  • Develop an advisory board for this series to support the work of the editor and provide greater breadth, depth, expertise and perspective in music library work. This is also an opportunity to encourage and develop members into potential authors or series editors.
