List of Previous Goals and Progress Made

  • Update the spreadsheet of potential advertisers
    • Defunct listings removed and new contacts verified when possible.
    • The spreadsheet was also updated to include current MLA ID nos., allowing clear identification of advertisers for the business office.
  • Work to maintain the support of advertisers during the pandemic and beyond.
    • The number of potential advertisers receiving personalized announcements of advertising opportunities was doubled. In addition, targeted solicitations were sent to selected contacts. In general, advertising levels this fiscal year remained consistent with those of  last year. Issues of Notes averaged approximately 22 ads. Advertisements on the MLA website remained strong, with 34 ads appearing. At the virtual conference, the number of program, website and Sched ads purchased exceeded expectations.

  • Update and redesign the Notes rate card.
    • Strategic plan goal: Organizational excellence, Objective 1: Develop and sustain the necessary resources to ensure the vitality of the Association, its programs and services
  • Update the advertisements we exchange with affiliated societies, as well as other materials, to include the new Notes logo.

  • Examine and revise procedures as necessary to efficiently work with the new Notes layout team.
