List of Previous Goals and Progress Made
- The MOUG Executive Board met virtually on August 17 and August 18, 2021 due to the continuing pandemic.
- The elected Treasurer-Elected resigned due to changes at her workplace and the Board is in the process of seeking a replacement. Mary Huismann was elected Vice-Chair/Chair Elect.
- Madelyn Shackleford Washington resigned as Fundraising Coordinator. The position will remain unfilled due to the continuing tenuous economic impacts of the pandemic.
- Molly O’Brien was reappointed as e-ballots manager. Nancy Sack was reappointed as the MOUG-L co-owner. Autumn Faulkner was reappointed as the oral histories coordinator.
- MOUG’s 2021 Annual Meeting was held virtually in the February, a few days prior to the MLA 2021 Annual Meeting. Due to the Board’s decision to not charge a registration fee, over 300 individuals registered for the conference.
Goals:
- Navigate holding the annual meeting during a pandemic
- As stated above, MOUG saw record turnout for the 2021 meeting due to no registration costs and a completely virtual platform.
- The meeting occurred using Stanford University’s Zoom instance.
- Responses to social unrest
- The Board issued a statement addressing the social unrest in 2020. The Board took special care to carefully and thoughtfully craft a statement reflecting MOUG’s commitment to diversity and representation.
- Update the mission statement (and generate values and vision statements)
- The goal was shifted to FY 2021 due to the need to respond to the social unrest in 2020.
List of Future Goals
- Refresh the mission statement and write vision and values statements
- Developing the new statements will help address outreach to underrepresented groups.
- Develop long-term financial plans for MOUG
- Continue to expand the activities and scope to include more reference, digital archives, and other non-cataloging aspects of working with OCLC products.
