List of Previous Goals and Progress Made

  1. Continue to contribute to the association’s social media (Facebook, Twitter, MLA Blog).
    • Facebook and Twitter posts include announcements for webinars, chapter meetings, job postings, and calls for applications. Blog posts include board announcements, new webinars, calls for applications, and announcements of publications. Posts of note include new MLA titles published by A-R Editions, the publication of the 3rd and final volume of A Basic Music Library, MLA award winners, and Public Domain Day 2022.
  2. Continue to give presentations to music and library schools.
    • Did not present at schools during this time period as I was rotating off this position.
  3. Engage with other fine arts professional organizations to pursue collaborations for meetings, education, and advocacy, especially through MLA Liaisons. Will also continue to pursue collaborations with AMS.
    • November 2021 – exhibited and held Q&A session on MLA and music librarianship at AMS annual meeting.
  4. Ensure an orderly transition with the incoming Publicity & Outreach Officer when my term ends in February 2022.
    • Updated handbook for this position.
    • Served on 2 failed search committees.
    • Plan to make documentation available and to mentor the new officer if/when appointed.

    • Aligns with Objective 2.6: Promote MLA and advocate for our profession, our members, our users, our institutions and for diversity; Objective 3.7: Enhance outreach efforts to members of underrepresented groups.
  3. Engage with other fine arts professional organizations to pursue collaborations for meetings, education, and advocacy, especially through MLA Liaisons. Will also continue to pursue collaborations with AMS.
    • Aligns with Objective 1.3: Cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with other organizations.
