List of Previous Goals and Progress Made

  1. Our planned annual meeting at University of Oklahoma was postponed for a third year, and our annual meeting took place online for a third time, from May 19-20, 2022.
  2. At our 2021 annual meeting the Chapter reconstituted a membership committee, specified in the bylaws but nonexistent for some time. This committee was headed by Vice-Chair/Chair Elect Thomas Bell, in accordance with our bylaws.
    • The committee began an outreach to institutions in Mountain-Plains states and Thomas Bell presented a progress update at our 2022 business meeting.
    • The committee is now headed by Vice-Chair/Chair Elect Maria Souliotis.

List of Future Goals

  1. We are now planning to meet in 2023 at University of Oklahoma, in Norman, Oklahoma.
    • Meeting is scheduled for May 19-20, 2023, hosted by Matt Stock.
  2. Our Membership Committee successfully applied for and received a grant from MLA to aid our outreach efforts (Thomas Bell is working with Jacey Kepich on a piece for the next MLA Newsletter).
    • Committee goal is to reach out to libraries/institutions in our region currently not affiliated with MLA in order to:
      • Grow our membership
      • Increase visibility of MLA
      • Discover ways we may serve institutions in our region
    • Membership committee members are: Maria Souliotis, Chair, Laura Jacyna, Woody Colahan, and Thomas Bell.
