List of Previous Goals and Progress Made

    1. Consider a policy of only posting jobs that include salary information.
      • I brought this up as a discussion point in a Career Development and Services Committee meeting. There was support for the idea. I submitted the following BAR in the January 2023 Board Report: “Employers who wish to advertise open positions with the MLA Placement Service must include salary information for the position.” The BAR was not passed but I was encouraged to continue requesting salary information from employers when that information is not included with a posting.
    2. Explore offering mock interview opportunities throughout the year, not tied to annual meeting.
      • This goal is ongoing.
      • Will consult with Career Development and Services Committee first, involve other MLA members as needed.

  • 2. Continue exploring offering mock interview opportunities throughout the year, not tied to annual meeting.
    • Develop and Retain Membership: Retain and expand membership by enhancing support for career development at all levels and career stages.
    • Will consult with Career Development and Services Committee first, involve other MLA members as needed.
