List of Previous Goals and Progress Made

  • 1. Try to improve on the widespread negative feelings regarding the tenor of MLA-L
    • While it has not been easy to get a read on the current state of negative feelings towards MLA-L, my impression is that this problem has not worsened.
  • 2. Lower the “unsubscribe” request numbers for MLA-L
    • Anecdotal evidence is that especially after concluding the first rather severe episode (James Levine) in 2021, this has been the result.
  • 3. Generate awareness that MLA-L won’t be an unsupervised free-for-all
    • The diminishing number of problem interactions on the list since this role was created in 2021 would seem to bear this out.

  • 1. Training
    • Locate and implement appropriate training for this special officer role
  • 2. Recruit an Assistant MLA-L Mediator sooner, or later
  • 3. Implement the MLA-L Mediator/Assistant Mediator Review Panel
  • 4. Work towards developing a handbook for the positions
