1. Work with our web manager to implement a newsletter submission form and update website instructions for submitting content, per MLA’s goal to strengthen communication.
- Goal met: Retirement of formal newsletter and merge with MLA News blog was announced to membership January 2023 alongside its ‘final’ issue, no.218. Successful creation, testing, and launch of newsletter submission form took place in spring, with first formal submission received in August.
2. Explore opportunities to highlight and/or engage members of other arts organizations, such as the Theater Library Association, for interviews or articles, per MLA’s goal to organize strategically / cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with other organizations.
- Goal unmet; continue for 2023-24. Mitigating factor was the transition from newsletter to blog, but with a formal submission process now in place I hope to point other organizations / contributors to it.
3. Expand role to include posting to social media based on current Publicity Officer vacancy, per MLA’s goal to organize strategically, strengthen communication, and develop/retain membership by promoting/advocating for our profession.
- Goal met: Worked with Past President Liza Vick to revise newsletter editor job description as MLA News Editor in tandem with announcement of newsletter retirement

1. Continue previous goal of boosting engagement on MLA News with contributors from other arts organizations per MLA’s goal to organize strategically and cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with other organizations

2. Explore social media analytics and/or consider conducting a user study to determine if current platforms contribute to MLA’s online presence in a meaningful and effective way, per MLA’s goal to strengthen communication by refining and improving intraorganizational and external communications
