List of Previous Goals and Progress Made

  • 1. Select and onboard new Assistant Web Manager
    • Objectives 2.1, 2.2, 3.3, and 4.3
    • Current Assistant Web Manager will serve on the search committee to select the next Assistant Web Manager/Web Manager.
    • Once the new Assistant Web Manager is selected, the thirty-two logins nd passwords needed to operate the various platforms the Web team relies on will be shared using Bitwarden
    • Completed – Kerry is our new Assistant Web Manager!
  • 2. Support 2023 meeting
    • Objectives 2.3, 3.5, 3.7, and 4.1
    • The Web Managers will continue serving on the Conference Planning Task Force and to advise on the online/remote/technical aspects of the conference planning process.
    • Completed – Conference went as successfully as it could.
  • 3. Continue documenting procedures
    • Objective 4.2
    • Completed – All documentation is stored in the webeditor Google Drive.
  • 4. Continue utilizing FreshDesk to answer tickets/requests
    • Objectives 2.4, 4.1, and 4.2
    • Ongoing – 248 tickets answered in the past year.
  • 5. Continue to leverage Web Committee
    • Objectives 2.1, 2.2, and 4.2
    • Ongoing
  • 6. Continue Committee/Interest Group/Chapter needs assessment (see Web Committee Annual Report)
    • Objectives 2.3, 2.5, 4.1, and 4.2
    • Ongoing – Chapter sites are slowly migrating to WordPress from YM/other platforms
  • 7. Work to make open access publications a part of the MLA web presence.
    • Objectives 1.6, 2.6, 4.1, and 4.2
    • Ongoing – Web Managers have worked with the Publications Committee to make this happen.

List of Future Goals

  • 1. Support 2024 meeting
    • Objectives 2.3, 3.5, 3.7, and 4.1
    • The Web Managers will continue to serve on the Conference Planning Task Force and to advise on the online/remote/technical aspects of the conference planning process.
    • Web Managers will be present, as is possible, in-person at the conference to help run the tech side of the conference.

    • Have approximately weekly meetings with the Web Committee Co-Chairs to stay up-to-date and work together on web-related projects.
  • 5. Continue Chapter site migrations and needs assessments
    • Objectives 2.3, 2.5, 4.1, and 4.2
  • 6. Work with the Web Committee Co-Chairs and Web Committee to revamp the Association website, moving as much to WordPress as possible and keeping in mind user needs, design elements, etc.
