MLA has long struggled with diversifying its ranks. Our hope for the Ignite the Spark campaign is to raise $5,000 to go towards the funding of even more Diversity Scholarships in hopes of keeping the dream of music librarianship bright for more students.
The Diversity Scholarship provides at least $1,500 per year to support the tuition (and, if possible, other educational costs) of a student from an underrepresented population to matriculate in a program leading to a career in music librarianship.
