The 83rd Annual Chapter Meeting of the Midwest chapter of the Music Library Association will be held Thursday, October 24 through Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Wayne State University in Detroit. This will be a hybrid meeting, available in-person and virtually. The MLA Board will hold its fall meeting with us in Detroit as well.
Program sessions will occur all day Friday and Saturday morning, wrapping up by 12PM. The program will feature presentations from our colleagues on such diverse topics as preserving Detroit music venues, music information literacy developments, training student staff, and processing unique collections, from polka to suffragist sheet music.
While we will not host a Thursday evening reception, Librarians of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra will be offering tours of their facilities and unique collections Thursday afternoon.
